Construction Manager

Job description / Role

To be responsible to plan, organize and direct the activities of the Construction Department for the specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

1. Establish and update annual plans and forecasts.
2. Maintain familiarity with all documented project requirements and/or objectives and key success indicators.
3. Identify and pre-qualify construction companies for work.
4. Work in partnership with the contractors, develop a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
5. Direct, motivate and manage Site and Construction Managers.
6. Monitor progress of construction. Where necessary ensure extra resource or alternative work processes are implemented to maintain or increase performance.
7. Ensure through on-site supervision that the construction works are undertaken to required designs, specifications, standards and HSEQ requirements.
8. Ensure Safety best practices are being utilised during all site activities.
9. Ensure that required liaison takes place with contractor, operational staff and other third parties.
10. Review and recommend on staff recruitment and ensure proposed construction teams are fully resourced.
11. Participate in preparation of estimates for proposals and changes to projects on-going.
12. Track and direct corrective and corrective actions processes within the construction team and follow up on implementation.
13. Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.
14. Demonstrate a personal commitment to HSEQ by following Statutory

HSEQ Regulations and Corporate Policies and Management Systems.

Requirements

Must have relevant EPC Experience working for an Oil and Gas Contractor.

Must be happy to be based in Iraq.

Must have been a Senior Construction Manager or Construction Manager on a EPC Oil and Gas Project.
