Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The broad description of the Construction Technical Engineer (CTE) is to assist the Civil Construction Manager by managing the flow of information between departments and to ensure that the Station Project Managers and Tunnel Manager and their teams of Resident Engineers, Inspectors and Superintendents receive the required information required to perform their tasks in time, to manage the review process of the submissions from the D & B Contractor. The CTE will support the Station Project Managers and Tunnel Manager to ensure that the PMC Construction Management Plan and procedures are always up-to-date and implemented by the PMC Construction teams.

Under the Civil Construction Manager supervision he will be responsible of the following:
- Ensure that the flow of construction related information between different departments within the PMC is effective to enable the Construction Teams to perform their duties and tasks on site.
- Manage and coordinate the review of construction related submissions, request input from relevant departments and individuals within the construction team and collate all these in one ERS as a timely and consistent response to the submissions.
- Collate and review the weekly and monthly report information from the Station-, Tunnel-, Logistic- and MEP-Managers and compile the consolidated Construction Department report for the PMC Project Controls Department.
- Assist the Civil Construction Manager in the periodic review and update of the plans and procedures of the construction department.
- Assist with the internal training and education of the construction team to ensure a consistent approach across the Gold Line Project.
- Provide support to the Station-, Tunnel-, Logistic and MEP-Managers and act as a stand-in during periods of leave.
- Attend and chair meetings with the contractor as needed.

Requirements

- International Experience (Middle-East) of working in Engineering Management Firm or in a construction site environment
- Excellent oral and written English language
- Write technical, interpretative and progress reports and presentations.
- Qualified professional working under limited supervision capable of performing general technical works and manage projects or tasks of moderate complexity or less experience staff.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction including at least 5 in heavy civil and/or underground works
- Engineering degree or comparable Technical Bachelors degree, with a bias toward underground structures, interfaces and Geothecnics
