Applications are invited for the position of Consular and Notarial Officer at the Australian Embassy in Riyadh

Job Description:

Undertake welfare visits to Australian citizens in hospitals, police stations etc and provide reports to management.
Maintain regular contact with the Australian community and Australian community leaders in the Gulf, and update the register of Australians overseas.
Liaise with the local authorities on the matters affecting Australian citizens.
Provide consular support to Consular/Passports Officer including contacting Australians and their families and writing reports.
Provide notarial services to clients.
Manage Embassy access to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (marasim), write diplomatic notes and seek on-line approvals for Embassy staff for new and renewal of visas, iqamas, licenses, vehicle purchases, registrations, sponsorship changes etc.
Arrange visas for official visitors to the Embassy, make airline, hotel and car bookings.
Receive and despatch airfreight bags/couriers and distribute material received.
Provide support to Passports Officer to process passports, manage passport applications, conduct interviews, and liaise with the Passport Operations Centre in Canberra.

Requirements

The salary range is SR 6,760-9,218 per month (including transport and housing allowances) depending on experience. An extra month’s basic salary is paid each year as an Eid bonus.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Excellent spoken and written English and spoken Arabic skills
Experience in dealing with consular enquiries and handling consular cases or similar /related tasks.
Ability to travel to deal with consular cases, throughout Saudi Arabia & to Oman & Bahrain.
Good computer literacy and keyboard skills.
Relevant university qualification.
