Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Primarily responsible for examining patients to diagnose illnesses such as tracheostomies and other infections ot the larynx that may cause hoarseness of voice and swollowing difficulty.
- Diagnosis and treatment of problems of the ear, including hearing loss, tinnitus, ear infections, balance disorders and complicated ear diseases.
- Provide eradicatement and treatment for allergies involving the nose sinuses, nasal polyps and excessive and frequent nose bleeds are also included.
- The Consultant needs to administer surgical procedures to rectify problems involving the ear, nose and throat examples include Rinoplasty, Otoplasty and removal of the tonsils and adenoids with or without myringotomy as well as incursion of grommet
- Cooperation with an Anesthesist and Opertaing staff is essential in performing successful operations on a regular basis.
- Explanations of clinical findings and procedures to patients.
- Examine and clean patient's inner- and outer-ear.
- Adminesters and prescribes medication and treatment.
- Monitor the patient's progress and re-evaluate treatment given to the patient.
- Recording all diagnostics, procedures, treatment and progress in the patient's file.
- Direct nurses in clinical procedures.
- Assist and provide consultation to Specialist and Audiologist.
- Holds the clinic regularly.
- Performs rounds in the inpatient wards.
- Organize and attend departmental meetings.
- Take on-call duty outside of regular duty hours when needed.
- Organize and attend CME meetings.
- Follow policies and procedures for infection control and patient safety.
- Perform other related duty as assigned by Head of the Department
- Develop a personal program for continued medical education.
- Adhere to the hospital's Dress and Grooming code for Medical professionals.
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety;
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of persons and the enviornment that may be affected by your acts or omissions at work;
- Cooperate with Hospital Management with respect to any action taken by the Al Noor Hospital management to comply with EHSMS requirements.
- Report to your immediate supervisor any situation which could present a hazard and which they you cannot themselves correct;
- Report all EHS incidents and work-related injuries; and notify supervisor or department safety representative/coordinator of any hazards, mishaps or incident reporting procedure.
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of environment
- Familiarize yourself with all EHSMS policies, standards and procedures that are relevant for your workplace and ensure compliance with all its requirements
- Attend departmental safety training (where applicable) and follow EHSMS policies and procedures.

Requirements

- Masters Degree
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of Experience in a hospital or clinicalsetting
- Specialist knowledge: Ear, Nose, Throat
- Soft Skills and Personality traits: Excellent Communication Skills.
- Proficient in Using computer.
