Job description / Role
- Conduct compliance reviews, either under a consulting arrangement or in support of internal audit.
- Assist clients with the development of compliance-related policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance in a consulting capacity to clients in resolving regulatory enforcement actions or re-mediating known compliance deficiencies.
- Delivery of internal audit, internal control, and regulatory compliance projects.
- Identify all applicable laws and regulations and maintain and update the List of Applicable Laws and Compliance Checklist.
- Assist with business development efforts (prepare proposals and marketing materials, conduct internal and external presentations).
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent like ACCA, CPA, ICAEW. FRM/PRM/CIA would be preferred.
- Three to five years of experience preferably with a Big4 accounting firm. Experience in the compliance / risk management department of a financial institution would be added advantage.
- Knowledge of BASEL II risk management framework and regulations of Central Bank of Bahrain.
- Knowledge of Basel II / III implementation, economic capital, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment (ICAAP), liquidity /credit risk management methodologies, measurements, stress testing Regulatory Capital Calculations and Reporting.
- Understanding of internal audit methodologies and standards, e.g., IIA Standards, COSO.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
