Continuous Improvement Engineer

Job description / Role

A leading semi-governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit experienced engineering professional. The desired candidates must have experience with manufacturing or printing industry.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for ensuring that lean manufacturing policies are in place and should continually drive improvement initiatives within the facility. The Continuous Improvement Engineer should keep track of KPIs from all machines, and support execution of innovative initiatives which improve the operational efficiency which include the elimination of costs and waste or improvement of safety and quality.

The job roles include:
- Acts and behaves in a way that is compliant with company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental and Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct.
- Effectively implements standard work and error proofing.
- Analyzes performance data against all machine KPI's.
- Continuously improves manufacturing safety, quality and delivery time.
- Facilitates and promotes Kaizen initiatives to help eliminate wastes and add value.
- Meets with function heads to identify inefficiencies and discuss points of improvement.
- Actively supports continuous improvement activities within the whole of CPF in order to maintain the company's efficiency and competitiveness.
- Ensures that 5S and lean manufacturing techniques are implemented within the facility.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree required preferably in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum 5 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Proficient in English and Mathematics
- Good leadership and people skills
- Able to work in teams
- 6 sigma black belt (or green-belt going on black belt) preferable
- Statistical process control experience preferred
