Contract Counsel Manager

Job description / Role

Our client is a highly successful MNC that offers professional services and is based in Abu Dhabi, with business activities and supporting offers across the GCC. They currently seek an experienced Legal Counsel to be based in the Abu Dhabi offices.

The legal team support the businesses activities, minimize risk and assure compliance with laws and company policies. The team provides specialized and deep areas of expertise, coordinates all legal advice and counsel related to commercial arrangements and offerings, including third-party alliances, complex outsourcing deals and transactions, intellectual property, public company responsibilities, board of directors support, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and regulatory support, and employment law.

Responsibilities for this position are as follows:

- Have a focus on legal Contracts.
- Adapt existing methods and procedures to create alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
- Understand the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
- Use own judgment to determines optimal solution to recommend.
- Primary upward interaction is with direct supervisor or teams leads.
- Generally this role would interact with peers and/or management levels at a client and/or within the business.
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments with minimal guidance.
- Decisions often impact the team in which they reside and occasionally impact other teams.
- This is a Manager grade role with senior responsibilities, but would not have any direct report.

Requirements

- Must hold a law degree attained in a Western country (ideally the UK or US)
- Must have experience focusing on Contracts
- MUST be based in the GCC (applicants not in the GCC will not be contacted)
- Worked in a professional services firm
- Must have 6-10 years post graduate experience
- Must speak fluent English
