The RoleThe RoleJob Summary: To manage the assigned contract while ensuring the highest quality of service to the client. This will include adhering to the contractual directives with full authority to make decision on the companys behalf. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and plan the full food service in 3 service areas and 1 central kitchen facilities twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week; Along with the functional heads of departments set operations schedules to meet the full requirements; Maximize the efficiencies of the facilities; Lead through example and enthusiasm; While maintaining the standard of service encourage cost saving initiatives; Ensure all managers and supervisors hold and maintain the safety standards; Keep abreast of the base policies and procedures that pertain and could affect the food service operations; Meet with the client representatives regularly for performance evaluations; Ensures compliance with health and safety and security requirements and undertaking risk assessments; Ensures compliance with Food Safety requirements and undertaking risk assessments; Ensures compliance with the guidelines from the contract, national and local laws; Along with the Maintenance department ensure all preventative and corrective maintenance is effectively managed while adhering to the directives of GCC. |
RequirementsRequirements Business Administration or Hotel Management certification with a minimum of 5 years experience in similar position or a minimum of 3 years experience in military food service. Ability to manage conflicts and a multicultural team Food safety and Health, safety and environment training Fluent in English, preferable with French and Arabic knowledge Cost control training Good skills as Microsoft Office user Sanitation Certification - the candidates will have completed a formal course of study through, or equivalent to, at least one of the following: 1. Educational Foundation of the National Restaurant Association Course in Applied Food Service Sanitation. 2. U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School Food Service Sanitation Certification Course. 3. Examination results from the Educational Testing Service (ETS) showing satisfactory completion of the Food Protection Certification Program 4. ServSafe, a Food Protection Management Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute and International Food Safety Council 5. A course of study that is offered from an accredited college or university approved by the Installation Medical Authority (other sanitation certificates may be accepted on a case-by-case basis) |
