The RoleThe RoleContract & Procurement Manager OBJECTIVE The Contracts and Procurement Manager will be a hands-on individual that will be directly involved in the bidding, negotiation, award, and ultimately delivery of procurements and running of the department. The selected individual will also be responsible for supporting proposals group by obtaining budgetary pricing, subcontract formation (customizing established templates) as well as being the lead negotiator dealing with vendors, subcontractors, services providers, and internal and external clients. Day to day management reporting and accountability of the group functions are part of this job. Reporting directly to the Commercial VP and assisting him as required. This activity is mainly focused on the EPC business (small power stations, pipelines, pumping and compressor stations, road works, civil works) but it will also include responsibility for providing the same services to the other group business lines (consulting, provision of labour camps, O&M services, and engineering services). ROLE SPECIFICATION EPC Subcontracts and purchasing experience, preferably with one of the top 10 EPC companies. Experience in the oil and gas business sector. Preferable experience in: pipelines, road works, civil works, turbine generators, and compressor/pumping stations. Strong knowledge of Commercial Terms and Conditions, and the ability to determine acceptable alternatives when dealing with Clients and Vendors/Subcontractors. Results focused problem solver, able to prioritize and make decisions appropriately always with the purpose to obtain best results for the company Ability to lead commercial issues and deal directly with clients, subcontractors and vendors. At least 3-5 years track record of successfully leading and managing high profile contracting projects with major companies in the engineering and construction sector & managing major contracts successfully Tough negotiator; precise and detailed in following up; ability to solve contractual issues Good verbal communication skills, fluent English, native English speaker preferred Ability and experience to manage the small Procurement and Contracts group, and to provide coverage for the Commercial VP as required. Ability to draft clear and concise communications Ability to travel when required |
