Contracts Manager

Job description / Role

This is a Head Office based role in Dubai, UAE. The succesful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's pre-contract contractual work for the Middle East region.

The business is a multi-disciplined main contractor capable of performing projects across a large number of sectors. Your work will largely depend on the companies targeted projects, but the emphasis will be on major projects regardless of sector.

You will report to the Regional Commercial Manager and assist with all contractual elements of the company's pre-contract work. This role will also include some post contract duties, however it is heavily weighted towards pre-contract work for the immediate term.

Duties will include:
- Reviewing sub-contractor tenders
- Setting up contracts
- Dealing with contractual issues up-stream and downstream
- Assessing risk
- Writing contractual letters

Requirements

- A degree (or similar equivalent) is essential
- Further qualifications such as MSc (or similar equivalent) in relevant subjects such as Construction Law would be an advantage but not essential
- Previous experience of working for reputable main contractors with excellent systems and procedures is essential
- Excellent understanding of contractual issues specifically relating to pre-contract work is essential
- Previous experience of working on pre-contract work for a main contractor
- Candidates should come from a QS / Contract Administration background
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
