Controller / Assistant Vice President

Job description / Role

A leading governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit experienced controller to take up the responsibilities of assistant vice president. The desired candidates must have experience with accounting and finance type roles, primarily with audit.

The job roles include:
- Supporting the Vice President / CFO in various areas of the Finance function.
- Lead issuance of financial statements for all Sanad entities in accordance with applicable reporting standards.
- Support key controlling and reporting functions.
- Lead key reporting to Shareholder and Lenders.
- Lead management of electronic data room.
- Lead and/or Support in standardisation of finance functions and reporting.
- Lead and/or Support in finance operational efficiency initiatives (i.e. Opening of bank accounts, updating signatories, updating governing members etc).
- Support in FP&A, Treasury and tax related functions.
- Development of supervised staff in line with career and developmental objectives.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or any equivalent study discipline.
- CPA, ACCA or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years experience in finance and accounting type roles of which at least 4 years of audit or acting as the focal point to auditors related experience and 2 years in a manager or equivalent role
- Strong accounting and IFRS knowledge Skills.
- Indepth knowledge of accounting and IFRS
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft office skills - particularly excel
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning, organizing and integration skills
- Strong knowledge in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational commitment
- Strong drive to grow capabilities
