The RoleThe Role- To administer and coordinate shipments for air export customers, ensuring that all documentation is processed and completed in a timely and efficient manner. - To make sound, logical decisions pertaining to the day-to-day activities for the air freight department, consulting with the senior management when necessary. - To oversee the contractual requirements of air export freight business. - To ensure that financial management and reporting for air freight is carried out in accordance with the company’s operational requirements. - Liaise constantly and accurately with customers to co-ordinate export shipment of goods. - Prepare and provide quotations, send quotations to client for acceptance, check pre-alerts from overseas agents/stations, confirm arrival details with customer, identify and confirm special requirements and charges. - Request/obtain clearance instructions from customer including: Tariff headings, deferment account number, delivery requirements, and all special requirements. - Process customs entry with specified/agreed time out and submit documents as required, raise invoices for duty where appropriate, ensure customer clearance are obtained, forward delivery documentation and arrange delivery and transport via the appropriate means. - Complete customs post entries and other general export administration tasks. - Provide weekend or evening cover to monitor shipments or customers as required. - Liaise with overseas network offices/agents to ensure destination services meet contractual requirements. - Maintain customer contact and further develop existing accounts. - Negotiate the buying and selling rates for air freight export/export. - Maintain all export shipment files in a timely and accurate manner. - Prepare customer monthly reports - Maintain relations with air lines and other freight forwarders for future collaboration of spot rates and requirements for obtaining their cargo and stock |
RequirementsRequirements- Demonstrate a successful track record of at least 1 year experience within the air freight industry achieving operational delivery, as well as understanding freight forwarding trends and customs procedures in the Middle East and related markets. - A self-starter, able to independently recognize and develop business opportunities - A through knowledge of freight forwarding techniques. - Able to manage relationships at all levels, with emphasis on cultural sensitivity. - Must be a committed team player - Knowledge of the air freight industry and broad understanding of market dynamics and market competitors. Experience in providing air freight forwarding solutions including warehousing, short term inventory management and transportation service provision is preferred. - Excellent communication skills – written and verbal English - High level negotiation skills - Customer management/ relationship building skills UAE Driving License an advantage. |
