Employment: Full Time

Reporting to: Assistant Director, Training & Development
Objectives: Coordinates plans and supervises all educational activities of the Department.

- Keeps continuity and improvement of Educational programs and services.
Main responsibilities: Plans, Supervises and coordinates day-to-day educational activities and instructor's schedules
- Provides periodic progress reports regarding educational activities and programs at least on quarterly basis
- Conducts educational programs, which enable staff to achieve certification in different specialty areas to meet the standards
- Develops annual objectives related to educational activities of the Training & Development.
- Recommends the annual educational budget based on the projected educational needs.
- Prepares the annual operational plan of educational activities with measurable quarterly targets.
- Prepares the detailed weekly schedules of instruction/classes including time location, instructor etc..
- Makes the necessary arrangements and coordination for optimal use of resources.
- Keeps abreast of current concepts of education through reading and personal contacts with other education professionals in the Kingdom and abroad.
- Assists in recruitment and in-service training of instructors. Interviews and recommends hiring an educational staff.
- Coordinates and directly participate in meetings with Education Coordinators of other departments to determine educational needs and enhance collaboration.
- Participates in educational committees for development, coordination and implementation of educational programs.
- Establishes and updates a coding system for all courses and procedures.
- Acts as a resource person, providing direction, supervision and guidance of educational staff.
- Develops and updates unified standards, policies, procedures, protocols and methods related to education and instruction.
- Determines educational materials based on need assessment tools.
- Confers with teaching and administrative staff to plan and develop curricula to meet the needs.
- Visits classrooms to observe and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional methods of each instructor/topic and recommends improvement.
- Establishes and periodically updates an objective evaluation procedure for instructors including production and bench marking.
- Provides instructors with supplies, equipment, and other learning resources.
- Conducts workshops and conferences for teachers to study new classroom procedures, new instruction materials, and other aids to learning.
- Compiles the transcripts and initiates certifications for all students/courses for approval.

Requirements

University Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Training, Hospital Administration or equivalent.

Specialist knowledge:
Six (6) years experience in a Hospital setting management and educational development, curriculum design, measurement and evaluation and organizational development including additional two (2) years in staff development or teaching required
