Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Ensure that adequate controls and proper accounting records are maintained throughout the group: Preparation of the consolidated Functional Statements and the Group Management Accounts.
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the departmental strategy and plans in order to enable the achievement of departmental needs and objectives.
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the assigned organizational unit by ensuring that work processes are implemented as designed, established standards and procedures are complied with and employees are motivated and understand what is expected of them in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets and objectives, and ensure employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
- Contribute to the development and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Payroll department activities to ensure that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
- Ensure that the integrity of the companys books and records is maintained and the ERP is operated and developed in a controlled manner.
- Assist in preparation of Financial Statements and ensure the accounting is maintained and developed consistent with the Group and International accounting policies.
- Ensure that all the companies transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner through periodic reviews of accounting schedules.
- Develop group reporting packs as necessary to gather information from international offices and subsidiaries and review unit packs on a periodic basis to ensure completion is consistent with QD Group policies and International Accounting Standards.
- Provide advice and training to business units to ensure that the level of accounting competence is maintained at an acceptably high standard.
- Keep abreast of changes in IFRS and provide assistance in the promulgation, understanding and adoption of new standards throughout QD.
- Ensure that payments to suppliers and employee expenses are recorded and paid in a timely, efficient manner and in accordance with company policies.
- Review Delegations and Authorities and Financial Policies and Procedures on an ongoing basis. Identify new situations and changed circumstances that necessitate a change in the Delegation of Authority or a policy or procedure. Recommend a revision and obtain approval from the concerned authority.
- Manage the yearend audit process in accordance with the issued timetable and assist in the audit clearance of financial statements throughout the Group.
- Review all internal audit reports and all external auditors management letters. Identify issues that affect the preparation of financial statements or have a bearing on financial controls. Take steps to ensure that the issues are satisfactorily resolved.
- Review legal documentation, such as memorandum and articles of association, shareholders agreements, and lease agreements, of new entities to ensure that accounting for those entities is consistent with the documentation.
- Review balance sheet schedules of overseas business units on periodic basis to ensure that accounting issues are identified and resolved on timely basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned

- With all entities within the Group and with all departments within Finance and QD Dealing with auditors, system implementers and suppliers

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Qualified Chartered Accountant is desirable
- Minimum 10 years of progressive professional experience (either in a corporate setup or in a Big 4 firm) preferably followed with experience in real estate Development Company in a similar role
