The Role


The Role


To coordinate the development, compilation and progress of corporate and divisional business strategies, business plans and budgets in cooperation with division/department management in order to define and communicate the strategic direction and progress of Adnoc Distribution in meeting their business strategy. This includes promoting the use of the Balanced Score Card (BSC) as the basis of measuring progress towards achieving the strategies and plans.

To conduct financial appraisals of existing processes and to complete a financial analysis of new business opportunities.

Planning and Reporting (40%):
Facilitates/coordinates the key stages of the business and budget planning cycle including preparing guidelines, timetables and formats, reviewing preliminary and final divisional plans.

Consolidates and produces the Company’s Business Plan. Coordinates the development and compilation of the long-term corporate business plan and examines related budget proposals.

Provides consulting services and training on business planning and reporting, for managers.

Reviews budget proposals to ensure conformity with work plans, guidelines, the business plan and pertinent economic conditions. Co-ordinates development and analysis of capital and operating forecasts.

Prepares the monthly activity Corporate Activity Report and ensure validity, consistency and suitability of the format.

Strategy and Balanced Scorecard (40%):
Reviews and modifies strategies in line with shifts in external business environment and /or internal policy decisions.

Conducts periodic meetings with divisional managers/coordinators to explain the BSC process, to define their role and to help fine tune the BSC objectives, measures and initiatives.

Keeps knowledge up-to-date on latest trends in the field of BSC/strategy.

Financial Investment Appraisal (20%):
Conducts financial appraisals of existing processes and provides financial analysis of new business opportunities to ensure compliance with the approved strategy and the BSC objectives. This includes validating assumptions made by the presenter, conducting checks to confirm conclusions and undertaking sensitivity analysis.

Other:
Performs other similar or related duties as and when assigned by the direct supervisor.

Requirements


Requirements


- B.Sc. in Engineering or Business Administration and/or a professional designation such as ACA, ACCA, CPA.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in strategic business planning preferably, in a related industry where the Balanced Score Card was used to monitor performance.
- Consulting, analytical, and presentation/training skills.
- Ability to use various computer software such as Microsoft office, financial and statistical software.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to influence change.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous.
