Job description / Role
The position of Cost Accountant is a semi autonomous position that assists the Management Team make effective decisions based on the Cost analysis provided. Specific responsibilities include:
* Completion of the day to day cost accounting activities, including month end and year end cost closure
* Responsible for the factory accounts section ensuring compliance with procedures and internal controls
* Preparation of monthly management production report, taking into consideration raw materials, labour, transport etc
* Monitor and close on a daily basis any relevant and completed job orders on the WIP
* Monitor and record all production waste
* Implement operational waste reduction methods to improve efficiencies
* Verify raw material stock checks, including stock in transit and on the shop floor against the system
* Ensure that all costing information has been documented, reviewed and is accurate for both manufactured and sourced quantities
* Assist with determining the monthly required raw material amounts for planned production quantities
* Identifies and reports any errors in BOM
Requirements
Candidates must be educated to a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, although further study of CWA / CIMA would be an advantage.
Additionally you must posses at least 3 years experience of working within costing within a large manufacturing organisation.
