Job description / Role
The Cost Engineer (Analyst) assists the Wells Team to deliver simple, concise and systematic cost information for Global Wells Organization (GWO) in support of delivering the mission of safe, compliant, and reliable wells. The Cost Engineer implements and is the regional GWO lead for all GWO cost processes.
Critical challenges that impact the ability to deliver on prescribed accountabilities include:
* Non-standardized way of delivering GWO cost information.
* Success is dependant of the Wells community conforming to applicable procedures.
* Differing levels of awareness and hence application of associated tools and processes.
Supporting the regional GWO teams, the cost analyst ensures that wells costs are developed systematically in conformance with GWO processes. Seeks out trends and early indicators of potential underperformance and raises these to leadership with recommendations for resolution.
* Assist in the development of GWO cost estimates for FMs, AFEs, and forecasting.
* Provide verification that GWO procedures and guidance are consistently followed.
* Provide information for the development of Business Plan Elements (BPEs) and Plan Change Proposals (PCPs) for wells.
* Provide cost progress reporting.
* Maintain Cost Model to track, monitor & forecast wells costs.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in business (Economics, Accounting & Finance).
* Previous experience in Oil & Gas industry 3-5 years in Upstream.
* Prior roles in Wells organization preferred in Cost Management.
* Experienced in MS Office applications or developed IT skills.
