The RoleThe RoleAre you an experienced Cost Engineer who has experience working in Libya and for an oilfield service company? Our client is an Oilfield service company working with Oil & Gas, petrochemical, water and power industry companies in Libya. With new development and changes to the country, our client is currently tendering various projects and requires an experienced Cost Engineer who has experience of working in Libya as a start to the company’s growth in the country. As Cost Engineer, you will be based in Tripoli and your responsibilities will include; - Review the oil and gas related scope of works contained in the tender documentations and/or quotations required by potential clients. You will provide analysis for the works content and costing each item by applying the relevant up to date unit costs covering materials, manpower and the utilisations of plants. - This role includes also the general understanding of the contractual conditions stipulated in the tenders, which might have bearings on the execution and costing of certain works, affected by HSE measures and operating restrictions. - Operating within strict time schedules, meeting the given dead-lines for submission of bids and/or other quotes |
RequirementsRequirementsSuitable candidates require the following skills and experience: - General Mechanical Engineering experience and HSE practices - ONC or equivalent preferable - Familiar with engineering services covering the mechanical and associated electrical and civil engineering works applicable to Oil & Gas installations. This will include but not limited to, storage tanks and pipelines, decommissioning, cleaning, insulations, repairs, testing, electrical installations and cathodic protection. - Familiar with Libyan Oil & Gas industry, local suppliers of materials and plants, services providers and tender practices. - Ability to operate within strict time schedules, meeting the given dead-lines for submissions of bids and/or other quotes. - Experience of the utilisation of heavy lifting equipment and plants associated to main mechanical and civil works related mainly to oil tanks and pipelines. - Proactive approach to problem solving liaising and supporting foreign partners by providing the local input related to the supplies of materials and plants sourced locally with related costing. - Familiarity with HSE and Quality standards applicable to operations in oil and gas Terminals. This position is a residential position in Tripoli, Libya and candidates with immediate availability would be preferred due to the urgency of this position. |
