Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Cost and Schedule Engineer will play a key role in delivering a complete suite of cost control services and financial support to Wells project for ME region. This role will be based in Muscat, Oman.

Implement Project Cost Control strategy, plans and procedures. Resolve issues relating to project cost control procedures.

*Coordinate development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) in concert with Project Lead and Project Planning/Scheduling Engineer.

*Participate in development of Project Execution Plan.

*Participate in the development of estimates and studies within a project stage and for sanction.

*Coordinate and/or develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS/CBS.

*Monitor costs, collect and compile progress and cost data, develop cost control worksheets and reports for review by delivery teams.

*Review and audit contractor cost control procedures and practices.

*Perform quality assurance on the contractor's cost management system, and performance vs budgets.

*Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders and material deliveries and other financial data. Coordinate assessment of Value-of-Work Done, and Commitments, and Forecast final Cost.

*Coordinate and/or develop project annual spend projections, cost reconciliations and variance analysis.

*Assist and/or prepare cost performance management data for reporting.

*Provide interface to other functions and teams to improve processes, resolve conflicting priorities and ensure adherence to best project practices.

*Work with Financial and Accounting function to ensure processes implemented conform to Governance requirements

Requirements

Bachelor degree (preferably in a technical/engineering discipline)

Project control or project management experience on large projects.

*Moderate or better experience level with cost management tools, (not just spreadsheets).

*Familiar with the difference between accrued expenditures (""Value of work done"") and cash flows.

*Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.

*Ability to recognize and solve problems.

*Analytical ability combined with good interpersonal and communication skills
