The Role


The Role


Accountable for:
•Managing the country’s Credit Review process based on HO’s set policies& procedures
•Monitoring the performance of the country’s portfolio from a credit standpoint against the set guidelines
•Ensuring achievement of Remedial yearly targets
•Ensuring strict implementation of Credit Administration policies & procedures

Key Roles:
•Review & assess Credit Reports submitted by the business lines based on respective policies, procedures and approved authorities matrix
•Recommend approval/ rejection of the Credit Request to respective credit committee, providing risk mitigation solutions/ alternatives when necessary in line with the policies spirit, guidelines and overall risk appetite
•Maintain the Credit Rating/ Scoring system(s) and ensure it is updated/ upgraded timely in line with HO guidelines, and ensure it is adequately implemented by the LOBs
•Maintain and recommend changes to the pricing policies considering the risk appetite of the Bank and monitor its implementation
•Review regular credit control reports relating to the portfolio credit performance and initiate necessary actions with Country CIB & HO on any policy breaches / negative indicators
•Provide feedback / recommendations to HO regarding credit policies & procedures adjustments / changes
•Oversee remedial activities and provide input & guidance with respect to settlement arrangements / deals on classified / non-performing accounts, and ensure to meet Remedial yearly targets
•Oversee the Credit Administration activities and ensure strict implementation of the policies and procedures

Key Performance Indicators:
•Timely turn around of all received Credit Reports
•Quality of the credit portfolio/ volume of assets in each Credit Rating class
•Remedial activity achieved vs. target
•Number of deficiencies in documentation/ outdated contracts & credit related documents

Requirements


Requirements


Education:
•Degree in Business Management or any related field from a recognized University.

Experience: 10 Years experience in Credit with a leading Regional/ International financial institution, of which 3 years in a similar position

Competencies:
•Fluent in English & Arabic
•Strong analytical skills
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, & presentation skills
•Proven leadership & team building skills
•Strong knowledge of the local market
