Job description / Role
•Assist the Country Manager in financial aspects of business development – feasibility studies, economic studies, business plan, evaluation of major contracts, etc.
•Ensure that tax related issues are properly dealt with and ensure optimisation of tax within the country
•Review and challenge merchandise performance in terms of actual results and objectives: sales volumes, margins, supplier benefits%, cash flow from operations, etc.
•Review and challenge expenses in terms of actual results and objectives: contractual cost, benchmark, productivity, etc.
•Guarantee the respect of procedures (including accounting procedures), DOA, etc across all the stores and head office
•Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of monthly results, forecasts, yearly budget, 5-year plan and financial statements,
•Review and challenge monthly results and forecasts of all the business units in the Country
•Ensure proper treasury management including company funding, utilization of cash, banking relationship, etc.
•Manage the company’s accounting and financial control functions and teams.
•Provide ongoing performance related advice for the Country Manager and other senior managers.
•Ensure overall control of all financial transactions.
•Ensure respect of the regulatory requirements regarding all the company’s financial affairs.
•Liaise with external and internal auditors.
Requirements
Skills:
•Languages: English (advanced verbal and writing), Arabic (plus but not critical)
•Sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly modeling in Excel
•Good work organization and team management
•Good presentation skills
