At IKEA creating a better everyday life for the many isn't only our vision, it's our way of life! Over the next five years IKEA will be expanding its footprint. In addition to our already established stores in the UAE we will be opening up new stores in new territories around the GCC and Egypt. Due to these expansion plans we now have an exciting opportunity for a Country Logistics Manager. Based in our Country Service Office in Dubai this person will serve as a senior member of our IKEA leadership team and will report into our Country Range& Logistics Manager.   In this regional role you will assume responsibility for the logistics operation for IKEA UAE, Qatar & Egypt along with our 35,000m2 retail warehouse. You will also ensure the operational objectives/metrics are delivered by taking into account logistics excellence in retail operations, resulting in agreed highest possible service levels at the lowest possible total logistics cost. Other key responsibilities include:Team Management: Managing a small team you will ensure that the logistics functions is properly staffed. In addition you will ensure that they are properly trained and developed in order to secure business performance.Stock control: Monitor the stock profile being ordered in the stores as well as the retail warehouse sites. Also ensure that the stock holding levels as agreed are maintained at the stores and at the retail warehouse. Inventory Control / Stock Accuracy: Maintain consistent stock balances by adhering to strict inventory control procedures and monitor, investigate & authorize any adjustments/ discrepancies in the physical movement of stock in the retail warehouse.MIS / KPI Reporting: Prepare the monthly Logistics Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for each of the territories and analysis reports on various measurable factors against benchmarked figures (e.g. reports relating to stock levels, stock ageing, top sellers, service levels with regards to stock availability, volume turnover, stock loss and damages analysis, stock profile analysis, Logistics costing, etc.). |
RequirementsRequirementsIn this senior management opportunity you will bring with you a wealth of logistics / supply chain knowledge preferably gained within a retail environment. As an effective communicator (both English & Arabic) you will have an excellent track record of developing longstanding relationships with local Government and Consumer Authorities in order to influence positive outcomes for us. You will be accomplished in the area of logistics and be able to provide us with specific examples of where you have identified and overcame barriers relating to the import and export of goods into various GCC countries.   Naturally you demonstrate strong leadership skills and will think outside the box to come up with effective solutions. Your strong commercial acumen along with your ability to manage multiple projects / assignments will help you success in this position. |
