The RoleThe RoleAccountable for: •Managing assets and liabilities to ensure adequate liquidity at all times •Managing FX risk, interest rate risk and capital markets portfolios within parameters approved by the Global Treasurer •Ensuring adherence to all counterparty and credit limits •Training and development of local Treasury staff •Sales and marketing of Treasury products and services •Establishing and maintaining adequate operating infrastructure for Treasury Key roles: •Develop annual business plan and risk limit proposal for approval by the Regional and Global Treasurer •Act as internal cash market place for the LOBs, in line with all relevant policies •Continually use market and customer intelligence to develop new funding, trading and product strategies •Comply with internal policies and external regulations at all times •Operate within liquidity, market and credit risk limits at all times •Ensure adequate staffing and succession planning •Remain informed of all relevant local legal and regulatory requirements, inform Global Treasury Management of all material changes •Raise and deploy liquidity to support the needs of the Arab Bank Group KPIs: •P&L from trading and investing •P&L from sales of Treasury products and services •Volume of sales of Treasury products and services •Qualitative feedback from internal stakeholders •Compliance with limits, policies and regulations •“Satisfactory” Internal Audit rating |
RequirementsRequirements•Degree from a recognised university •Minimum 5 years’ related experience with a recognised financial institution •Thorough knowledge of the financial markets, or risk management in banking •Fluency in English & Arabic spoken and written •Strong numerical and analytical skills •Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills •Track record of success in leading or supervising staff |
