Our client is multinational company with offices around the world and throughout the Middle East. They offer a full range of real estate consultancy services in all major market sectors covering offices; retail; residential; hotel and leisure as well as industrial properties. They are currently looking for a new Credit Controller/Collections Officer to join the finance team. This is a challenging role that needs someone with quite a strong personality and a valid UAE driving license.
You will need to target and notify customers of outstanding accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visit to solicit payment. Your duties include chasing customers to secure collections, coordinating with the Accounting Department for handing-over of cheques received and assisting in the posting process to customer's account. In addition, reporting cases to the Account Manager if customer fails to respond or is resisting to settle an invoice, and keeping records of collections and status of accounts receivable at all times. The Collections Officer will functionally report to the Collections Committee.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role you must be a good listener, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. You must have good negotiation skills and excellent problem solving skills. You should be numerically minded, able to respond to inquiries, and analyze customer statements of account. It is essential to have strong English communication skills both verbally and written. Arabic is greatly preferred. This role requires someone with a strong and confident personality as debt collection is not for the faint hearted.
