The RoleThe RoleOverview Large global media company is looking for a Credit Manager to be responsible for Credit Control across the regions on Europe & IMEA. The Role •Provide strategic advice and accurate reporting to the Europe & IMEA CFO on all matters relating to credit control and A/R; •Manage the A/R client data base for Europe & IMEA; •Manage significant accounts, develop and manage account relationships with clients; •Improve where necessary in house credit control systems; •Attend management and consultant meetings in cases of all A/R related matters Europe and IMEA; •Identify and pursue late or bad payers locally and globally; •Enforce terms of business to all clients in a polite but firm and professional manner; •Develop and manage implementation of client and management communication channels; •Implement controlled letter, reminders and statements cycle; •Maintain relationship with Partners and Directors; •Prioritize credit control procedures, calls logging, forecasting etc; •Manage and conduct understanding and awareness of the credit control function to team members across the regions; •Coach and mentor other team members in A/R related matters where applicable; •Liaise with the Europe and IMEA Financial Controllers in all related A/R matters; •Implement escalation channels for the resolve of client queries that may hamper effective collection; •Keep and maintain files on client contracts, project set-up forms, budgets and PO documentation for EUROPE & IMEA; •Conduct credit vetting where necessary prior to service where applicable; •Advise senior management of all possible bad debts discuss strategic solutions and advice on bad debt provision; •Advise senior management and directors on all possible slow client payment recovery; •Ensure that there is accurate and timely forecasting of cash from debt receipts for all businesses. |
RequirementsRequirements•Accounting Qualification •Experience working with multi-currency ledgers within a multi-national environment; •Preferred previous experience associated in the implementation of credit control systems. Understanding of Double entry bookkeeping; •Used to leading and motivating a team of people; •Used to hitting tight reporting deadlines with an eye for accuracy and completeness; •Experience and practical understanding of financial requirements in various European countries; •Systems literate and very good with Excel; •Good working knowledge of UK and European VAT; •Ready for a challenge. |
