Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsible for the Management of the Companys Debt where duties include: Credit Vetting new Customers, granting of credit and collection of outstanding dues worldwide. This involves minimizing risk, increasing cash flow, compiling in-depth reports, ensuring accuracy and commitment at all times and liaising with all 49 Outstations. Creation of Credit Control Policy Document including Credit Control Procedure Documents.
- Work closely with Executive Management in the sourcing and evaluation and appointment of General Sales Agents with a view to ensuring their proper financial performance and securing adequate financial protection of the Companies assets by way of appropriate level of guarantees
- Control and maintenance of the Accounts Receivable Ledger which includes Passenger and Cargo in accordance with Industry Standards and ensures reporting thereon complies with International Accounting Standards.
- Initiate and control the collection procedures to ensure all outstanding due balances are kept within company credit terms.
- Compile the necessary provision to cover slow and doubtful collectibles in line with the companies Provisioning Policy.
- Maintain a proper reconciliation of the Accounts receivable Ledger to the General Ledger.
- Ensure the integrity of the receipt data in order that financial statements are produced in a timely manner for submission to Management and Auditors. To ensure that the Company collects all its financial obligations on due date while optimizing receivable terms.
- Liaise closely with external and internal customers as well as assisting with Government Bodies. Work closely with internal and external auditors and also external Legal Departments.

Requirements

- A professional and highly experienced Group Credit Manager with minimum 5 to 7 years experience in Credit Management.
- Bad Debt, Collections, Debt within the Court, Policy & Procedure Creation and Customer Relations.
- Good inter-personal skills particularly leadership, making decisions with a flair for managing difficult accounts.
- Ability to deal with customers in highly stressful situations whilst maintaining a professional decorum at all times along with clear and concise verbal and written skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High computer literacy
- Excellent creative writing skills
- Strategic planning and Project Management skills
