Customer Technical Support Officer

Job description / Role

Handling the following functions in polypropylene (PP):
- Customer services and customer relationship
- Customers' technical training on Injection molding, Fiber, Raffia, & film applications
- Marketing analysis
- Complaint handling & compensation
- Machine trouble shooting
- Developments of PP grades and adviser for quality of PP products
- Defines the marketing strategy, in close co-operation with other relevant functions (Product development, Manufacturing, .. )
- Support the activities of Sales & Technical Service by providing professional sales and marketing tools
- Together with sales develop action plans for specific customers to successfully implement the marketing strategy and new innovations
- Accountable for customer and application project portfolio and drive for successful implementation
- Frequent contact with key customers and the value chain to understand current and future market and customer needs
- Drives the launch of new products/solutions into the market
- Internal auditor for REACH Certificate, ISO 9000 Certificate, Food compliance, Toy regulation, Oreganoliptic certification & other certificates
- Provides technical support in the development of PP products.
- Oversees performance evaluation and benchmarking of PP grades
- Leads multidiscipline teams in development of new PP grades
- Assists in material characterization programs for PP grades Develop and implement programs for maintaining resin qualification and performance approval programs
- Leads engineering project for the development of new production technologies - in coordination with the Process Technology Department and machine suppliers
- Contributes to preparation of technical and product data sheets and documentations for market launch and the commercialization of current and new PP grades
- Designs and delivers technical training programs about polyolefin manufacturing and applications
- Handles technical complaints, liability assessment and technical claim investigation
- Coordinates internally with Materials Specialist and externally with the universities, technology providers and research centers to run joint research programs for development of high performance polyolefin.
- Contributes to the internal quality, safety and physical condition audits of the center

Requirements

- Bachelor or Masters in Chemical/Polymers/Pastics/ Chemistry/Materials Science or associated technical fields. While work experience is not required, experienced candidates will also be considered.
- Preference for PP manufacturing industry and R&D activities
- Extensive experience in the Polyolefin manufacturing and application techniques
- Ability to conduct long term performance evaluation and qualification of polyolefin for various applications
- Experience in project resource planning, management and project tracking techniques
- Capable of working as a team member
- Effective interpersonal communications and presentation skills to interact with marketing and customers
- Effective training and people management and development skills
