Objective: We always believe in the power of making a difference and we are defined by the extraordinary talent and commitment of our people. We are looking for an experienced DCS Engineer with specific experience in Emerson Ovation DCS systems to join our business

Main responsibilities : The role will involve, but not be limited to, all aspects of routine and breakdown maintenance, programming, fault-finding, administration and management of Emerson Ovation DCS hardware and software, including interfacing with field instrumentation and other control systems (GE MkV, ABB STCS, PLC). The role will also involve supporting the Electrical and Instrumentation team and plant operations in the safe, reliable and economic operation of the plant

Reporting to : Electrical and Instrumentation Team Leader

Subordinates : None

Other interactions : Electrical and Instrumentation team, plant operations and Emerson / other third parties as required

Number required : One

Duration : Permanent

Desired start date : As soon as possible

Probation : Three months

Working hours : Sunday - Thursday 0700 - 1600 although working outside normal working hours may be required

Travel requirements : Location is approx. 1 hour from Doha, Qatar

Gross monthly base salary : Competitive and tax-free

Commission / Bonus : Personal and plant performance bonuses, plus a corporate profit share paid into a contributory pension scheme

Requirements

A minimum of five years experience in Emerson Ovation DCS systems within the power generation or other heavy industrial environment is required

Must have proven experience in all aspects of routine and breakdown maintenance, programming, fault-finding, administration and management of Emerson Ovation DCS hardware and software, including interfacing with field instrumentation and other control systems

Other desirable experience includes commissioning, field instrumentation, turbine control systems and PLCs

Must possess a ‘Whatever It Takes’ attitude, including working to tight deadlines, working individually or in a team, adapting to changing priorities and working outside normal working hours if required

Must possess a relevant degree and be PC literate with excellent written and verbal communication skills
