Employment: Full Time

The Project Managers (Third Party Contractors) prime responsibility is to programme, coordinate, supervise and manage procedures, schedules and compliance to specifications for contractors contracted by third party stake holders, works executed on the University campus.

This will primarily be the corrective works required under the Defects Liability requirements of the main contract but will also include other third party contractor activities. The post holder will work closely client representatives, occupier representatives and contractor personnel to ensure that all works do not impact the university operations and are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Take the primary lead position in the coordination and communication between all stakeholders for projects which will take place by third party contractors on the campus
- Manage, control, monitor and report to client representatives on all activities relating to the third party works throughout Campus.
- When required provide technical expertise for the different building trades in order to ensure compliance with existing warranties, design, safety, quality and integrity of the property and systems
- Identify and resolve problems and issues which will arise between progress of the works and campus operations whist maintaining
- Provide asset condition reports and where appropriate provide reports and documentation to these are rasied with the appropriate stakeholders.
- Understand complex contractual relationships and the commercial integration of the same
- Undertake and record regular site visits to inspect and monitor the works from a Quality Control and compliance. progress and health and safety perspective.
- Coordinate and obtain (where necessary) all necessary internal and/or external approvals before throughout the works period.
- Evaluate and report on technical specifications, detailed instructions, drawings where necessary.
- Play an active part in progress meetings and where necessary chair the same to ensure information is collected and disseminated to the appropriate stake holders
- Schedule and monitor DLP activity and other fit-out activity to achieve completion within agreed timescales in order to meet KPI"s as set out by the client.
- Oversee testing and commissioning, snagging, and close out of both DLP activities and fit out works
- Integrate and communicate effectively with all staff, contractors and 3rd parties as required
- Maintain up to date knowledge for the safe and efficient performance of all duties
- Actively undertake and participate in the Health, Safety & Risk programs including risk assessment of work activities
- Ensure safe systems of work when working with all equipment and ensure the same with the department and among sub-contractors and 3rd parties
- Provide effective communication with management, peers, contractors, subcontractors
- Ensure good HSQE and Information security culture is promoted within the department and among peers
- Carry out other duties as directed by the line management

Requirements

- Must hold a relevant degree, or recognized qualifications in a building trade, or equivalent
- Proficient and able to provide relevant managerial and technical support across a variety of building trades
- Technically competent with a clear knowledge of building infrastructures and associated services and systems
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to create reports
- Proven problem solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues
- Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment
- Flexible in the approach to all work activities
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintaining and delivery very similar services. Preferably in a building services and/or facilities management environment
- Good level of commercial acumen
- Project Management experience is essential
