Employment: Full Time

The Data Analyst provides technical and professional support for the office; demonstrates knowledge of database systems and has experience with or transferable skills in institutional research activities that include data retrieval, data analysis, and data management; develops reports and visual representations; develops and/or maintains databases; and is responsible for retrieving and presenting meaningful data to relevant constituents to meet their needs and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform institutional data and statistical analysis utilizing a variety of statistical software packages to aggregate data, and prepare standard and/or ad hoc reports in appropriate formats.
Develop, document, and maintain optimized SQL based code across several database management systems.
Design and implement ETL mappings using Oracle Warehouse Builder and build BI projects, packages, and reports using Cognos BI.
Collect requests and project requirements, guide constituents to determine the most appropriate analytical methodology needed, and report and document the processes and outcomes.
Assist in the development of annual institutional and departmental reports and publications that include the Fact Book and Facts & Figures Brochure, semester reports, government requests and other annual reporting requirements.
Coordinate with other departments to assist in the implementation of various institutional research activities, surveys, evaluations and subsequent results.
Work as a member of a team and serve as a resource on university committees as needed; and further train and direct others work as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
English Fluency- Required; Arabic Fluency - Preferred

Experience:

Two years or more of related experience.
Experience with relational databases, data extraction, and data warehousing.

Skills:

Ability to work with different types of data files, large datasets, and relational databases.
Knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS/SAS /R) and associated scripting/programming languages.
Develop, document, and maintain SQL based code for data analysis and data extract.
Previous knowledge in Banner Suite and business intelligence and visualization tools such as Cognos BI, Hyperion, and Tableau; including knowledge of at least one ETL tool is preferred.
Strong understanding of database design, theories, principles, and practices.
