The RoleThe RoleOur Client who are a leading IT services business are currently looking to locate a Data Centre NOC Engineer. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain the company's Data Centre Facilities Monitoring and Management Systems these report on the status and performance of company’s data centre facilities. Fault handling and escalation; identifying and responding to faults on company’s data centre facilities liaising with internal technical teams and 3rd party suppliers, handling escalation through to resolution. Facilities maintenance; monitoring and management of air-conditioning, UPS, generators, power usage, running health and safety and housekeeping checks at company’s data centre facilities. Facilities provisioning for the installation of racks, setting up power, Ethernet, fibre and console cabling, remote power management. Maintenance of technical documentation for NOC of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations. Development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration, particularly with regard to company's own architecture and platforms. Provide service cover for the Data Centre Manager Carrying out changes and change controls Daily Stock Management Security Access control for Data Centre Works De-commission of Hardware Installation of Hardware Moving of Hardware Patching Requirements Support for collocation, managed service and data suite clients. Participate in a 24x7 call-out Rota if required. |
RequirementsRequirementsWorking knowledge of facilities management tools focused on the data centre environment i.e. Aperture, Avocent Min 12-18 Months experience in a Technical Support or similar role. Experience of monitoring and responding to BMS solutions and managing alarms across full organizational breadth Marinating and working within quality management systems including capacity management, service management. Stable employment history essential Excellent communication and client facing skills Motivational and proactive character Good team player |
