Dental Assistant

Job description / Role

- Total Patient/Client care rendered
- Mutually beneficial relationships are built and maintained with colleagues and multi-disciplinary team
- Records meet legal requirements and are done according to Mediclinic standards and accreditation requirements
- Infection control policy is complied with
- Stock / equipment managed and controlled
- Arrange dental instruments, materials and medications as appropriate
- Assist Dentist during procedures
- Clean and sterilise instruments used after treatment and implement standard decontamination procedures
- Perform routine care and maintenance of dental equipment
- Fix appointments for patients and keep records of patients treatments

Requirements

- Diploma in Dental Assistant OR
- Qualification of Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Dental Medicine or Bachelor of Dental Surgery
- Minimum of two years experience in the dental field
- An active DHA license is a definite advantage
- Exposure to quality/ accreditation standards is preferred
- Computer literacy at a basic level
- Exceptional customer service skills
