Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Department Head - Business Intelligence and Data Integrity (Omani National / GCC)

You will be responsible of establishing BI governance model and managing a BI steering committee, developing BI strategy and analytics roadmap, providing strategic approach for data analytics and big data, ensuring data governance quality and privacy across the company, keeping up to date Data governance model documentation:
- Corporate policies, standards and processes.
- People (relationships, & responsibilities, and stakeholders).
- Defining different sources of data to be collected.
- End-to-end ownership of the BI process and oversight of BI resources in the company.
- Creation and ongoing ownership of a central BI/MI company data definition dictionary.

Monitor data accuracy/quality across the company (Reporting Structure and Technology):
- Ensuring single version of truth.
- Developing KPIs dictionary.
- Mapping of KPIs to source system.
- Assessing and verify accuracy of main KPIs used by different departments, including stakeholder alignment.

Reviewing and controlling use of current reporting and capabilities across the organisation, supporting in conjunction with IT, the development of a business intelligence competency centre to promote the use of BI, train and develop the reporting capabilities throughout the company.

Big data and new business opportunities:
- Supporting in the ideations process for medium-to-long term areas/ themes for potential partnerships or investments.
- Looking for alignment with BU and implementation of new business opportunities.

Aligning and coordinating BI strategy with Ooredoo Group and managing the implementation of the BI Automation with Ooredoo Group.

Requirements

You should have experience in telecoms industry preferably with reputable wire-line and wire-less operators or consultancy firms preferably with experience in an emerging market and/or middle east, with minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated with at least 3 years of expertise in the telecom business, experience managing large complex BI projects and teams, ability to manage complex vendor, supplier, sub-contractor relationships, experience in building and supporting BI/analytics/big data business cases with a degree in computer science, mathematics, operations, management, or a related field is required.

Skills Required:
- Extensive expertise in BI and related technical platforms.
- Extensive expertise in data modelling, both logical and physical.
- Extensive experience in multidimensional data modelling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, denormalized models, handling slow-changing dimensions/attributes.
- Experience and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes (governance, measurement, etc.).
- Experience with business driven / self-service BI
- Solid understanding of data security and privacy technologies
- Solid understanding of key BI trends
- Solid understanding of leading edge technologies and best practices such as Hadoop and Big Data
- Solid understanding of the BI vendor landscape
- Solid understanding of mobile delivery architecture and best practices
- Solid understanding of Customer Experience (CX) technologies
- If the position also covers advanced / predictive analytics - experience with data science, statistical analysis, data mining and predictive algorithms Business Intelligence and Data Governance experience
