Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Assists in the management and monitoring of the operation of the Contract in accordance with Contract Specification and Company Policy.
- Works with the Contracts Manager in order to meet client and company expectations, through management of agreed objectives.
- Assists in the development, reviews, and maintenance of the Contracts Management Plan and provides updates to the Project Management Plan.
- Liaises closely with the Client, or their representative, in the provision of the contract service, to ensure compliance with contractual method statements.
- Provides leadership and supports negotiations of the more difficult, complex, or sensitive issues associated with tender awards.
- Responsible for managing, reporting, and analyzing all contractual matters related to assigned construction packages, including final payments and retentions.
- Manages and reviews the executes pre-tender and pre-contract stages, including commercial evaluation of tenders received, ensuring the contracting strategies and the ultimate contracts developed are consistent with company approved policy.
- Provides senior-level guidance to assigned personnel, and ensures proficiency and timeliness of all contract administration functions in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
- Works with the Contracts Manager to define staffing assignments and re-assignments as project needs arise and to set project priorities.
- Manages support team to assure contracts are effectively managed during the course of the contract period and ensures its close-out is in accordance with established procedures.
- Reviews and recommends claims and other contractual matters to the senior management.
- Reviews and/or prepares progress reports and supports the Claim/Risk Manager in resolving risks and claims in the best interest of the client through contract related advice.
- Actively resolves issues as identified by the client and the Contract manager so that customer satisfaction throughout the contract scope is maintained at the required level, as detailed within the contractual method statements.
- Responds to any reasonable request of the company or client within the constraints of the Contract.
- May serve as Contracts Manager during period of his absence.
- Supports the Contracts Manager in other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

- 4-year degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years prime contract administration and management on large international engineering construction projects.
- Working knowledge of FIDIC and other international standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and report writing skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- GCC experience.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations related to contracts and their negotiation; understands and interprets terms and conditions and legal issues.
