The Role


The Role


• Directs operational IT activities, staff and physical facilities of the department
• Ensures implementation of project management lifecycle in all ICT projects and reports to Director of IT on project status
• Coordinates project events with external consultants and internal units
• Exercises operational control over development of campus-wide ICT infrastructure
• Exercises operational control over development of University’s information systems
• Exercises operational control over change management projects and establishes related procedures
• Negotiates SLAs with both internal and external clients and service providers and monitors service delivery to ensure agreed targets and standards are met
• Assists Director of IT in developing strategy, policies, plans and operating budget for University’s ICT in support of the University’s core objectives.
• Monitors implementation of operational plans within negotiated budget and time constraints
• Ensures existing IT processes are documented and maintains BCP and DRP
• Ensures a standard of professional development of all IT staff
• Develops and sustains effective relationships with stakeholders, clients, vendors, developers, and contractors
• Deputies for Director of IT on internal committees

Requirements


Requirements


• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology
• Experience in project management and implementation, including large-scale and end-user technology solutions
• Experience in operational leadership in ICT
• Minimum 5 years experience in managing multiple IT disciplines
• Experience in ICT service delivery in Higher Education
• Management Information Systems implementation experience
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in developing effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and contractors
• Strategic ICT leadership experience in Higher Education
• Experience in operational management of large scale ICT projects in Higher Education
• Experience in ERP system implementation
• PMP or ITIL certification
• Kurdish or Arabic language skills
