Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

1. Provides overall engineering and coordination support to assess proposed design changes related to the scope of proposed change, and assessment of the budget and interface impacts of the proposed design change. The position is an essential position with responsibility to monitor, track, and assess proposed design changes and will work to fully monitor and assess the proposed design change. The Design Change manager also participates in VE and other workshops in accordance with contractual obligations; and monitors risks/problems and helps develop options to resolve. Provides support for other engineering activities as required. Will supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
2. Performs engineering reviews of the proposed design changes prepared by others and prepares formal technical assessments.
3. Advises Design Management Group of potential impacts of proposed design changes.
4. Supports the maintenance and tracking of design changes and provides input to the monthly Project Reports.
5. Interfaces and coordinates with the design consultant(s) when proposed design change documentations are not fully compliance in order to expedite the review and approval process.
6. Reviews and monitors design changes for compliance with specifications and approved design criteria.

Requirements

- Works with the Construction Management Team to assess proposed field changes by performing an engineering assessment and coordinates the review with other project team members and the Design Change QS to facilitate a comprehensive analysis.
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering and 5 years of related work experience in infrastructure design. 15 years of Highway/infrastructure related work.
