The Design Coordinator will support the Project Director/ Manager by managing the design integration and coordination process across WSP engineering and specialist disciplines, and where applicable external sub-consultants, to achieve high quality, fully coordinated, buildable, multi-disciplinary design solutions. The role will include involvement throughout all stages of the project life cycle ensuring the technical delivery and quality of large scale multi-disciplinary projects or smaller simultaneous projects across WSP in the Middle East.

Reporting to the Project Director/Manager your key responsibilities and accountabilities include:
Cross-discipline coordination of design information and ensuring that the design is compatible across disciplines. Monitors the effectiveness of the coordination and reviews the design drawings prior to issue.
Identification of methods and procedures for improving coordination between design disciplines and making recommendations on their implementation.
Produces reports on design compatibility issues and makes recommendations on solutions.
Reviews the designs for compliance with the design criteria as part of the coordination review.

Requirements

As well as being a great team player, to be successful in your application you’ll need:

BEng /BSc (Hon) degree or equivalent discipline with minimum 10 years post graduate experience
Membership of an associated Professional body
C.Eng preferred although not essential
Experience and proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams and projects
Technical Architectural background preferable but not essential, but able to demonstrate experience in a design coordination role
Commercial Acumen
Senior or Principal level experience
Site experience on large scale projects
Multi-discipline coordination experience
Experienced user of Microsoft Office
Comprehensive experience of technical design and associated discipline software (i.e BIM/Revit)
