Design & Development Head - Real Estate

Job description / Role

Our client, a reputable real estate developer, is seeking to recruit highly qualified professional to head their design & development function (team).

Reporting to property CEO, the incumbent will lead & support the project development management team, coordinate with various technical function heads and external agencies in relation to design, development, market trend, branding and technology. Therefore, the job-holder should:
- Create and implement project development program from feasibility to delivery ensuring schedule, budget and quality.
- Ensure the delivery of project design as per schedule, specifications, compliances and quality
- Ensure setting up design management procedures, forms and reporting formats with an objective of producing complete manuals for contracts compliance.
- Effectively lead team of development managers and architects with an objective of realization the required design development on time.
- Ensure & plan the resources to ensure the delivery of projects design & development within time-frame and in compliance with the pre-set specification and budget.
- Lead the design & development team from research & feasibility till design completion then proceed with the same to tendering & construction stage.
- Understand the scope of work related the project and draw-down accordingly the implementation plan.
- Identify the resource required for the various stages of the project.
- Ensure the delivery of the projects development in term of schedule, specifications as well as statutory & regulatory authorities conformance.
- Coordinate and interface between the any third party such as Consultants and the management of the company.
- Ensure obtaining of all required approvals
- Ensure contracts administration matters such as claims, variations, etc., and act accordingly on-time,

Requirements

- Must hold a degree in Architectural Engineering gained from reputable university. Master degree or MBA is a certain plus.
- Must have at least 20 years of work experience.
- Must have worked for at least 10 years at managerial level in the development industry, on mega projects such as mix-use, hospitality, malls, etc.
- Being entrepreneur, innovative and task oriented is a must.
- Must have hands-on experience in management development systems & manual as well as implementation of the same on per & post contract stages, project delivery and contract close out.
- Possess excellent verbal & written interaction & communication skill at all levels within the organization
- Possess commercial acumen in addition to technical strength.
