Employment: Full Time

With a fast paced expansion plan set for the year 2015, we are currently looking for Design Director for our Corporate Office in Qatar. You will have a leadership role in the growth and development of Louis Bergers planning, design, and supervision portfolio across the civil & infrastructure market segment, in Qatar.

The candidate would be mainly responsible for leading the following four areas:

- Financial Performance - Ensure financial performance by achieving business plan targets through winning work, identifying and implementing operating efficiency within the civil & infrastructure market sector. Support the Country Director in cash collections and working capital management, as appropriate. Review civil & infrastructure staff utilization and ensure that necessary changes are being implemented to maximize operational efficiency, in collaboration with the Country Director and the Civil Infrastructure Director MENA.

- Project Delivery - Promote and enhance the Louis Berger profile through innovative solutions, thought leadership and active participation with the Clients and stakeholders in the project delivery process. Review the project delivery process within the civil & infrastructure market sector, and ensure that effective work planning and project control systems are being implemented. Review with the Country Director the technical and financial performance of civil & infrastructure market sector projects on a regular basis, and ensure that necessary measures are being implemented to ensure profitable performance.

- Business Development - Lead strategic business development activities by identifying, pursuing and capturing strategic civil & infrastructure opportunities that are crucial to developing the Louis Berger business beyond its current offering. Prepare the civil & infrastructure strategic plan for Qatar, in collaboration with the Country Director and Civil Infrastructure Director MENA, as part of the overall Louis Berger strategic planning process.

- People - Lead strategic recruitment, including the maintenance of a strategic recruitment list. Support the Country Director and Civil Infrastructure Director MENA in the management of resources. Ensure engagement and continuous development of staff within the civil & infrastructure market segment, report annually on the performance of staff, and recommend promotion / salary increase or otherwise, in collaboration with the Country Director and Civil Infrastructure Director MENA

Requirements

- Minimum qualification of a Bachelors degree in the field of Engineering with experience in large complex civil & infrastructure projects involving Design.
- Minimum period of 15 years work experience in a senior position on large complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Self-innovated, a leader, and able to work under no supervision in a heavy workload environment. This will be beside a quality sense of defining management and administrative problems, collecting appropriate and related data to establish solutions.
- Qatar market experience preferred, specifically with ASHGHAL Client.
- Multinational Consultancy Firm background.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret extensive variety instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
