The Role


The Role


The Technical Group (TG) has been established as the Engineering and Technical organisation for Borouge, which is mainly based in Ruwais. TG is the Engineering and Technical Services organisation and has business process ownership of Asset Integrity; Process Safety Management; Inspection; Project Engineering and Delivery (value up to $50 million); Technical Authority Governance and Support. Additionally TG is the custodian of the Company Technical Standards and Procedures.

Reporting to the Design Office Team Leader under the Technical Services, you will be part of our Technical Group and your responsibilities will include:

* To summarize the general task of the role, you will execute the Design & detailing for Mechanical, Piping & Process etc. Overall responsible for Plant Design System (PDS) 3D-Modelling for Equipment, Piping, Civil & Piping support, Foundation, U/G services, Cable trenches etc. using PDS modules i.e. Equipment modelling, Piping Designer, Drawing Manager, Isometric Drawing Manager, Support modeller etc. Creation of 3D Piping models, Equipment models, Support model, G.A. drawings, Isometrics & MTO extraction etc. Work independently to update, modify or create new piping design in the 3D models for new system establishment or existing system design modification in the plant for Plant Modification projects (PMP).

Your specific responsibilities shall include:

* You will create design documents and PDS model updates related to plant modification projects (PMP) packages.

* You will prepare design & detail drawings using best international design engineering practices in accordance with the Company's design specification PMP packages for review by Mechanical / Piping Project Engineers.

* You will update PDS models for new design & piping routing as aesthetically, economically, maintainability, accessibility etc. To build the reliable system PMP packages for internal clients (Plant operation) Olefins, Poly-olefins, product Handling & Plant Utilities etc.

* You will update the 2D-intelligent P&ID using PDS-2D Schematic environment, Smart Plant 2D-SP PID system, Generate equipment layout drawings, Isometrics and issue MTO (material take off) summary using PDS modules for PMP packages.

* You will work closely with project engineers for finalizing PMP design packages.

As a successful candidate you will need to have:

* Possesses 12 years technical / secondary education plus 2 years diploma course.
* 1 year of on job or CAD training institution certificate.
* 12 years working experience as Mech. / Piping Designer for designing & detailing. Min 10 yrs. working experience on PDS system for 3D-modeling in the field of Oil / Gas / Petrochemical Industry project work.
* Good working knowledge familiar with general piping design practices & piping material specifications. Also familiar with international codes / standards ASTM, ANSI, DIN, ISO etc.
* Shall be fluent in English (Written / Spoken) and having good communication & interpersonal & analytical skills. Team work and across functions / disciplines.

As part of your daily working tools, you will need to be familiar in using the following:

* Microstation J or 8i version.
* Plant Design System (PDS-2D & 3D).
* Smart Plant Review (SPR) / Navis Works.
* Smart Plant PID (SP PID).
* Documentum for Electronic data Management System (EDMS).
* Visio Technical.
* Office packages (Word, Excel, Power point & MS Access).
