Job description / Role
The successful candidate will carry out engineering tasks as directed under supervision of more senior engineering staff. You will be required to apply design knowledge to design projects for the development of conceptual designs. Produce detailed designs for a particular project segment under supervision, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Receive specific discipline schematics at the production information stage, develop working drawings and write technical documents, taking cognizance of products available within the local market and develop own knowledge in the technology and with interfaces with other disciplines. Review of vendor documents ensuring compliance with purchase order requirements.
Requirements
- BSc. or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years diversified experience in the engineering field.
- Hands-on experience of civil/structural analysis/design software applications including STAAD Pro, SAP 2000 etc.
- Basic understanding of 2D/3D design packages including AutoCAD/Micro Station, PDS & PDMS and international civil/structural engineering design codes, standards and specifications.
- Good technical knowledge of civil/structural material specifications & site surveys.
- Good knowledge of design of site earthworks/infrastructure works including cut/fill, grading, roads, paving & fence as well as drainage systems.
- Analysis & design of pipe racks, pipe sleepers, equipment supporting steel structures & platforms.
- Knowledge of Civil/structural design of industrial buildings, shelters and design of foundations for equipments, structures & supports as well as buildings.
- Ability to support proposals/bidding work related to civil/structural discipline including estimation of material quantities.
- Coordination capability and presentation skills are essential.
