Design Manager - Bahrain

We require a Design Manager for a major new-build scheme in Bahrain where we are providing Project Management services to a significant international client.

The role will be reporting to the Programme Director and responsible for our design management obligations on a major mixed use and hospitality programme. This will involve:
- Leading all Design Review Meetings at each stage of the project from concept through all delivery phases.
- Managing the development of the project Brief, Scope & Deliverables.
- Ensuring that the brief is scoped correctly to enable appropriate procurement of consultants.
- Ensuring that necessary systems are in place to facilitate the production of fully coordinated and complete information in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that the appropriate reviews and checks take place at key gateways and key intervention points throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Organising and implementing Design Reviews and facilitating the Value Engineering of Design Consultants solutions.
- Monitoring compliance with the Project Brief.
- Excellent communication skills will be required, both written and verbal.

Requirements

The successful applicant will need to have experience in coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders and demonstrate the ability to build, develop and integrate teams.

- International experience is an advantage.
- High End Building or Major Project experience is essential.
- Must have experience with well recognised, blue-chip construction organisations.
- Candidates must be prepared to live and work in the location of the project.
- Must be able to demonstrate longevity in previous work history.
- Degree Qualification preferred (BSc, BEng, BArch, Masters) in a Construction or Engineering related profession.
