Job description / Role
Our client a leading international contractor undertaking large scale Industrial, Infrastructure and Commercial projects based in Europe, MENA and North America regions are currently seeking a Design Manager to join them in Egypt.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for :
- Coordinating with the project designer for the complete design of the project including the viaduct, related utilities and permanent works.
- Development of construction methods, cycles and schedules that are applied in the field.
- Manage and coordinate multi discipline engineering activities to ensure the project is executed in a safe , efficient, cost effective and timely manner reporting to the project manager.
- Act as a primary technical coordination interface with the Client to ensure Clients expectations are satisfied. This includes interfacing to obtain the Clients construction related inputs and priorities and communicate them to the design team.
- Manage delivery of design to cost, programme and specified standards and codes, working in conjunction with the project designer.
- Proactively resolve design issues as they arise. Identify, document, communicate as required to meet the Project Specifications.
- Manage the design delivery team to achieve milestones and other key project objectives, including productivity and budget targets.
Requirements
Minimum of 15+ years experience of project design and engineering experience on large scale viaducts/bridge engineering or related rail infrastructure projects.
