Design Manager? This could be just the job. World class business, working on world class projects, based in highly desirable Bath, with its history, culture, sport and leisure, nestled at the foot of The Cotswolds (an area of 'outstanding natural beauty'). Cant be bad.

Our client is an independent, international engineering practice that has become synonymous for the delivery of creative, value led building and city solutions. Their Design Project Management team, based out of Bath, provide project management services for their largest and most complex multi-disciplinary projects. They have been at the forefront of major deliveries such as Battersea Power Station redevelopment, the London 2012 Olympic Stadium Transformation, and the Arsenal Emirates Stadium. They are currently recruiting for a Senior or Associate level Design Manager to provide project management services on a major metro station project in Riyadh

Job Purpose:
- To manage the engineering input into a project, representing a multi-disciplinary engineering design team interfacing with the client and other professionals on complex construction projects.
- To ensure engineering deliverables meet contracted obligations
- To handle client expectations and relationships with the aim of achieving design success, optimising profitability and creating an environment where team members enjoy their work
- To bring a clear managed culture to projects using the tools of the Projects Office and demonstrating the financial, organisational and creative benefits of a properly managed project.

Requirements

- Enthusiastic, engaging and robust - able to adapt his or her style to the needs of the situation whilst safeguarding the interests of the practice and relevant relationships
- Experience of or looking to work as a project manager or project leader on multi-discipline projects (eur 2m - 50m+ construction value).
- Background of successful delivery in a relevant design discipline.
- Some experience of a variety of forms of project procurement and appointments for the delivery of design services.
- Comfortable working in a multi-discipline environment interfacing with and delivering through the wider team (core disciplines, specialists, architects and client).
- Capable of leading either from the front or alongside a design-based project leader/director.
- Able to coordinate the delivery of projects - managing internal resources, the consultant appointment and the delivery of design
- Commercially aware - understands the need for financial control within the context of a sustainable business
- Perceptive, incisive and concise - focuses on the right issues at the right times to keep the project on track.
