Design & Production Manager

Job description / Role

Job Purpose:
- Produce the design and layout for the monthly magazine, the quarterly Middle East Electricity publication and the bi-monthly student lifestyle title
- Produce the design for the divisions newspaper supplements
- Produce the design for e-newsletters and other occasional online collateral
- Source freelance designers who can support the publications delivery during peak time

Key Performance Indicators:
- Delivery of the design & layout of the monthly magazine and related supplements on time and to budget
- Delivery of the design & layout of the quarterly Middle East Electricity publication and the bi-monthly student lifestyle title on time and to budget
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Meeting of deadlines and design targets as outlined by the Editor

Requirements

Essential:
- Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software
- Exceptional creativity and innovation
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry software
- Excellent time management
- Ability to manage multiple projects very different in nature simultaneously
- Ability to remain flexible through multiple revisions
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and under pressure
- Strong organisational skills
- Team player with the ability to work alongside other departments

Desirable:
- An understanding of the B2B publishing industry
- Video and film editing skills
- Creative, lateral thinker who can develop ideas and push through change
- Understanding of revenue models for print and online publishing products
- Spoken/written Arabic
