Design and Proposals Engineer

Job description / Role

Responsible for the design engineering, development and production support of RO/UF systems and technical and commercial preparation of RO/UF proposals in compliance with client’s specifications as well as internal and external technical and quality standards.

Proposals:
• Prepare optimum process design and preliminary drawings based on client specifications and/or Sales Department information.
• Review of tender documents and ensure that offer meets the technical and commercial requirements specified in the tender
• Prepare a high quality and professionally presented offer in compliance with client’s requirement.
• Coordinate all activities with the different departments to collect all necessary information to develop the optimum technical commercial proposal.
• Support and assist Sales Department for the technical negotiation and clarification during tender review and/or order review.

Detailed Engineering:
• Prepare detailed engineering for the plants including the following:
- Design calculations
- P&ID
- Piping & General Arrangement
- Fabrication drawings
- Isometrics
- Prepare technical data sheets
- Bill of materials
• Review the drawings produced by draughtsmen or other engineers
• Validate final design good for construction and liaise closely with Production and Service Team to ensure correct implementation of the process and regular feedback to permanently improve our product.
• Ensure that designs are environmentally friendly and safe for operation

Others:
• Assist with costing analysis and participate in components/products selection.
• Control and validate Operation and Maintenance Manual.
• Keep track of developments in the technology, process and the market and conduct necessary updates of the designs.
• Participate in technical meetings with the client.
• Develop innovative design and engineering solutions for the client.
• Support the commissioning and installation activities with technical know how and expertise
• Perform any other duties related to his area of expertise as assigned.

General:
• Complete all required documentation and work as per the Integrated Management System.
• Any other duties as may be agreed from time to time with the Technical Manager and the General Manager.

Environment: Works in clean environmentally friendly pleasant surroundings 80% of the time. May be required to visit sites occasionally.

Requirements

Personal Characteristics:
• Highest level of personal integrity and standing. Positive work ethic and demonstrated progressive experience.
• Highly self motivated with a positive work ethic.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited University.

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of progressive specific experience in design engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in design and engineering of water treatment plants.
• Extensive knowledge of Reverse Osmosis, Ultra Filtration Technology is essential.

Specific Skills:
• AutoCAD Knowledge is desirable
