Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL Development Economist - Doha, Qatar
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The principal function of this position is to:
• Provide land / development economic support on urban development, economic and master planning projects.
• Undertake economic, property and planning research as required on projects.
• Develop bespoke financial, forecasting and land use models as required on projects.
The priorities of this role include:
• To provide day to day technical economics and modelling support on projects.
• To provide high quality written reports and analysis.
• To support project delivery by providing inputs to time and budget.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
• 3-8 years previous experience in consultancy or development environment.
• Excellent data / spreadsheet / database / analysis skills.
• Technical understanding of some of the following: property economics, urban economics, macroeconomic profiling; business planning; development appraisal / financial modelling; economic impact.
• Ability to analyse and present data.
• Good reporting and presentation.
Minimum qualifications to include:
• Qualified to minimum of degree level (degrees with numeric focus preferred e.g. Economics, Finance, Property)
• Interest / experience in Urban Development and Planning
• Willingness to learn to improve the spectrum of technical and softer skills required from a good consultant.
