Job description / Role
Publishes original articles on patient care and education, clinical practice and/or research, and the multidisciplinary profession of diabetes education as represented by nurses, dietitians, physicians, pharmacists, mental health professionals, podiatrists, and exercise physiologists. He/she should be the key to coordination of the interdisciplinary diabetes team and development of plans of care of the individual patient.
Requirements
Must have the same role in a hospital industry. Applicants must first earn advanced degrees in medical fields such as nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacology, podiatry, nutrition or social work. Have earned the Certified Diabetes Educator credentials. With in-depth knowledge and skills in the biological and social sciences, communication, counseling, and education to provide self management education / self management training.
