Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a leading retailer seeking a Digital Content and Communications Developer to work across various retailing brands. The role will entail translating campaigns into targeted emails to drive the highest response rate to campaign activity. This role will be reporting into the Customer Communications Manager.

The Role
- Ownership and management of all digital content
- To manage projects that have a scale and scope at any given time.
- To influence change and business improvements in order to minimize agency reliance over the long term
- Generation of content for use in digital communication channels for a wide variety of technology devices with a focus on mobile optimization
- Development and management of social applications through industry standard social tools
- Responsibility for email design and development in accordance with industry practice, to support Marketing Operations
- Ensure that all creative requests are delivered on time and in line with guidelines provided

EMAIL
- Create and implement email templates (coding in html) using latest retail industry design and techniques focusing on layout, interactivity, design and messaging, optimising for mobile devices (responsive/adaptive design)
- Review agency creative and ensure best practices are being deployed
- Responsibility for testing emails across various email clients, web browsers and mobile devices, to ensure correct rendering and design optimization.
- Support the introduction of multivariate testing in emails and a programme of continued refinement in email design
- Responsible for approving initial email / design and copy, template checks and distribute accordingly internally and externally once final sign-off is completed.

DIGITAL CONTENT
- Post receipt of a marketing brief, to create digital content for use in email, social and other digital channels
- Work with agencies on updates as well as look and feel of mobile applications and other owned digital properties e.g. existing reward programme
- Adherence to brand corporate identity
- Responsible for keeping abreast of industry trends and facilitating latest capability and best practice into company digital strategy
- Management of digital content library

PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
- Provide leadership and direction to subordinates towards the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce high quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.
- Prepare performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress and identify training needs of team members to improve efficiency and ensure conformity with standard procedures and practices.
- Communicate any organizational changes and mitigate risks through effective change management

Requirements

- Graduate or Post Graduate Degree.
- 5+ years business to consumer experience, ideally within retail, of which at least 3 years gained in multi-channel direct marketing, including email marketing and specifically digital development experience
- Experience of email marketing activity, ideally within a retail environment and having demonstrated technical solutions to marketing emails
- Experience of content management solutions
- Team management
- Excellent html knowledge and extensive exposure /understanding of industry technology and social media development activity.
- Proven Photoshop, Dreamweaver and/or other email development and design tool skills
-Native English speaking is a must
- Experience using Digital native
- Creative excellence
- Working knowledge of email clients (ExactTarget, Mailchimp etc)
- Strong html coding, content creation, social media and email design background
- Ability to understand business issues and analytical data to create marketing campaigns
- Good communication skills and organization skills
