Job description / Role
As the Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for formulating, developing, testing, implementing and managing products and services (Postpaid, Prepaid, Data, Voice, Content, Messaging and Online) covering all segments (consumer and corporate), leading a team of senior product development managers.
You will be expected to develop overall product strategy with respect to existing businesses in mobile and fixed in consumer and business sectors. You will be leading all product development initiatives across the company including formulating strategic product development plans to maximise revenue, customer take-up and profitability, taking into account emerging changes in customer needs, capability, cost and other factors. Contributing in creating and communicating the product elements of the Annual Operating Plan, Strategic and Corporate Roadmaps for the organisation.
You will be leading the product design and lay-out of Mobile app and IP-based core network elements working with both internal and external technical and business system resources and having a control of full product life-cycle - development, testing and launch of new products and services etc.
At the product analysis, you will be responsible for the market research, price and data analysis on products, Analysing Telecom/ Mobile App / VoIP Industries and Competitors. To anticipate changes in the market and react to new product developments. Supporting product innovations to setup new revenue streams.
You will be overseeing the product performance management, ensuring product objectives are met across the company. Leading product strategy review exercising with functions across the company and identifying progress and gaps in all product performance measures. Responsibility shall also include full product P&L, product business case definition and follow ups.
Leading all the product initiatives. You will also be leading a product team and expectations of developing the team members. Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Requirements
You have a bachelor's Degree, preferably in telecom engineering or a related discipline. A post-graduate business qualification is a definite advantage.
Experience in Telecom industry preferably with reputable wireline and Mobile Operators. May also include experience with OTT/Digital players and product partners.
You have the following experience:
15 years' commercial experience is required, with significant telecom exposure. A strong grasp of the technical aspects of the telecom industry is required.
Previous roles with telecom product development, strategy, & execution
Managerial experience with teams of similar size and scope and cross-functional leadership especially in technical areas
Demonstrated leadership of development and delivery of strategic products
Excellent program management and project management skills
Solid understanding of telecom industry trends
Sound knowledge of technical aspects of bringing telecom products to market across the product lifecycle
